Into the Now accompanies Canadian music legend Bruce Cockburn as he sets out on a major concert tour through Canada and the eastern United States. The journey unfolds in the tense weeks leading up to a highly contested U.S. midterm election, placing Bruce in the middle of a divided and restless America.

On the road, on stage and in the recording studio, Bruce reflects on the present volatile moment and on a lifetime of songwriting shaped by travel, politics, and human connection. He shares insights into his creative process, his guitar playing, and the practical wisdom of continuing to tour at eighty. As the film moves between concert halls, city streets, and quiet moments of reflection, a powerful realization emerges: the issues Bruce has written about for more than five decades—war and migration, political power, colonial injustice, environmental destruction, and the search for joy in a fractured world—are not just still relevant, they seem to define our time.

Interwoven with the tour are intimate collaborations with a younger generation of prominent artists who each reimagine a Bruce Cockburn song that speaks directly to their own lives. These encounters reveal the enduring power of socially conscious music and the joy of meaningful intergenerational collaboration.
