One Warm Line: Special Edition Release
The re-release of our documentary originally produced in 1990 now includes a newly-enhanced version of the film, plus rare video footage of Stan performing in concert and insights from those close to him.
The acclaimed documentary was praised by The Globe and Mail critic John Haslett: “as lyrical as the soul of the singer it celebrates,” meanwhile Mike Boone from The Montreal Gazette raved, “One Warm Line is an exuberant celebration of a great singer-songwriter.” The documentary was produced by Kensington Communications, directed by Alan Collins and Robert Lang, and it premiered on CBC. The film has captivated millions of viewers over its broadcast life.
Stan Rogers was a great singer/songwriter who touched the elusive spirit of Canada. He was larger than life. Before dying in a tragic accident at the age of 33, Stan Rogers was already well on his way to becoming a national icon. Born in Ontario, Rogers’ mother was from Nova Scotia and much of his music was influenced by his summers there.
Listen to Jian Ghomeshi’s opening essay on CBC Radio’s ‘Q’ show from June 2013, about the passing and the legacy of Stan Rogers, thirty years after his death in 1983.
“One Warm Line” is available for orders now and will be shipped starting on March 31, 2014.
